TMC acting student co-hosts the Manchester Culture Awards

Acting student Aimee Swann presented the Manchester Culture Awards alongside BBC North West's Annabel Tiffin.

The Manchester College Acting student Aimee Swann recently made her presenting debut, hosting the sixth annual Manchester Culture Awards at Aviva Studios with BBC presenter Annabel Tiffin.

Despite not having any hosting experience, Aimee jumped at the opportunity to co-host the ceremony, passing several rounds of auditions to secure the presenting position. Aimee made the most of her experience, commenting, "It was a great opportunity to show my talents and capabilities. It went amazing - I couldn't have asked for it to go any better."

The Manchester Culture Awards celebrate the city's thriving arts and culture scene, with art professionals and members of the public nominating the best and most creative projects of the year. Around 450 guests and nominees attended the prestigious awards.

Louise Ince, Achievement Tutor at The Manchester College, said, "We're so proud of Aimee for landing the co-hosting position. She went through a series of auditions and beat some fierce competition from other artists all over Manchester.

"Aimee presented brilliantly at the awards, impressing the attendees and organisers with her confident stage presence."

For the past two years, Aimee has been commuting four days each week from Stoke-On-Trent to train at The Manchester College. Aimee added:, "It's worth the journey. The Manchester College can open up so many doors. There are fantastic industry links and the tutors will always help you get where you want to go."
