Patisserie students win international dessert competition
Patisserie & Confectionary students have earned the Education Champion title at the Asian Plate Art Awards 2020.
Students from The Manchester College’s Industry Excellence Academy for Hospitality & Catering are celebrating after winning an international online competition.
Patisserie and Confectionary students entered the Asian Plate Art Awards, showing off their skills by making beautiful Asian desserts and submitting images for judging.
College students entered 13 dishes, earning three Certificate of Merits, four Bronze Awards, five Silver Awards and one Gold Award, for Level 3 student Taylor-Jade Frendo’s entry.
The students’ efforts meant The Manchester College was named the Asian Plate Art Awards Education Champions 2020, reflecting their hard work and talent.
There was further success in the People’s Choice Award, which took the form of a public vote on Facebook. From 111 entries, Level 2 student Sarah Garside’s plated dessert came third.
