School liaison team talking to students

Schools Liaison Team

Working closely with schools, sixth forms, academies, alternative provision, local authorities and IAG providers across Greater Manchester and beyond, our School Liaison Team helps to support careers advisors, teachers and senior school leaders in delivering the most useful and relevant information, advice and guidance to students from Year 8 through to Year 13.

Our mission is to assist education and IAG providers to offer the very best information and advice to young people about their future prospects. Through a range of workshops, presentations, tours, bespoke sessions and drop in events, our team can visit your school, work closely with your staff, and give extremely helpful, impartial advice to all of your pupils who will be thinking about what to do when they leave school. We can also help schools and sixth forms meet some of their key Gatsby benchmarks through some of these sessions.

Through our exciting new Industry Excellence Academies and Centres of Excellence, we offer a wide range of vocational, professional, and technical qualifications that help students take the steps they need to enter these exciting careers. We currently offer T Levels in Business Management & Finance; Construction; Digital; Education & Early Years; Engineering & Manufacturing and Health & Healthcare Science, and from September 2024, Animal Care and Management; Craft and Design; Hair, Beauty and Aesthetics and Media, Broadcast and Production.

We are extremely excited about being in our third year of delivery for our T Level offer and believe they will help build the knowledge and skills needed in the workplace environment through a combination of classroom theory, practical learning and industry placement. Our team are very knowledgeable on T Levels and Foundation Year courses and are happy to support schools to build their knowledge around them.

We run events at schools around the region as well as on our campuses at The Manchester College. We can help enhance and support your own activities and sessions on career and education planning, or we can run our own well-established programmes, taking the hassle and stress off your shoulders.

Our sessions can be delivered ‘live’ in school or virtually, we also have a range of pre-recorded sessions available upon request.

If you’d like to build a relationship with our School Liaison Team and work together to help young people plan their future, then check out our latest Offer to Schools booklet which gives an overview of the support and activities The Manchester College can support.
