Star-studded event kicks off Greater Mancunians Photography Exhibition

A who's who of Greater Mancunians attended an exclusive preview of our student-led photography exhibition last night.

The Greater Mancunians Photography Exhibition has officially opened following an incredible preview event at the iconic Central Library’s Main Exhibition Hall.

Many of the famous and influential Mancunians who were photographed for the project attended the preview event, including photographer Lee Jeffries, Olympian Diane Modahl, artists Stan Chow and Akse P19, and activist Professor Erinma Bell MBE.

The exhibition features photos of the entertainers, sportspeople, artists, politicians, and community heroes who shaped Manchester into the city it is today. Over the past seven years, 150 students from The Manchester College snapped photos of over 100 Greater Mancunians at personally significant locations across the region.

The contributors to the project can be found here: www.greatermancunians.blog.

The Greater Mancunians photography exhibition will run from Friday 19 April to Sunday 30 June at Manchester’s Central Library. It is free to enter the exhibit.
