In year one, you'll study four units:

• Studio Production
• Creating Musical Material Through Production
• Music Technology for Live Events (either Live Sound Operations of DJ Technology)
• Planning a Career in the Industry

In year two, you will work on a self-directed individual project such as writing or recording an album, composing a portfolio of music for TV, film and computer games. You will also work on a large-scale collaborative project where, as a group, you will organise your own event, festival, recording or composing project.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

Much of this course will be focused on hands-on practical assessment, including live demonstrations, recording sessions, portfolio building and group work which will be assessed by your tutor.

Experience gained throughout the qualification will help you progress to Higher Education such as the BA (Hons) Creative Music Professions at The Manchester College. You can also progress on to degree-level study with our higher education partner, UCEN Manchester. Students progressing from The Manchester College will receive a cash award through the Achievers Scholarship.
