Building on the skills developed at Level 1, this course introduces more advanced skills techniques in both recording and sequencing and prepares learners for study at level 3. The music industry is also explored including looking at how to make money out of music and promote your music to a wider audience.

This course runs for three hours per week in the evenings and there is an Autumn and Spring enrolments September to December and January to May.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

Assessments will focus on an evidence portfolio that you'll build up throughout the course. This will include some written assignments but will mostly consist of practical studio and DAW projects.

After you've successfully passed this Level 2 course in Music Technology, you'll have the skills and expertise needed to advance onto the Level 3 Diploma in Music Technology with us at The Manchester College.

This is the ideal step to deepen your knowledge and help prepare you for a number of roles in music technology, including sound engineering (live or recording), post-production engineering, and DJ-ing. You'll find a range of career opportunities in the Music industry to explore.
