Double award nomination for The Manchester College

The Manchester College has been named as double finalist in the latest Tes FE awards 2020.

The leading further education resource has officially announced the finalists for its 2020 awards, with The Manchester College named in two categories.

Leading the charge is College Principal Lisa O’Loughlin who has been shortlisted in the FE Leader of the Year for her role as Chair of the Greater Manchester Colleges Group (GMCG).

The College’s work with employer partners and expertise in establishing employer sponsored programmes has also secured a place in the finals in the Employer Engagement category.

In addition, the College’s apprenticeship partner Total People was also nominated in the Apprenticeship Programme of the Year category for its joint construction apprenticeship scheme M-Futures.

Lisa O’Loughlin said: Lisa O’Loughlin said: “This is amazing news for the College.

“I’m so proud of our employer engagement colleagues, whose industry leading work and commitment to our students and employers has been recognised by peers in the further education sector.

“I’m also truly honoured and humbled to have been nominated in the FE leader category. The work of the GMCG is very much a team effort so a huge thank you must go to all of the principals working to strengthen further education in Greater Manchester.”

The Tes FE Awards recognise the most outstanding individuals and institutions that the FE sector has to offer.

Tes FE editor Stephen Exley said: “Excellent practice exists right across the further education sector, and those shortlisted for the Tes FE Awards are the cream of the crop. Our judges were extremely impressed with the calibre of entries. To be shortlisted is an extraordinary achievement.”

The winners will be revealed at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Friday 20 March 2020.
