The Manchester College strengthens partnership with Stellantis Electric Vehicle donation
College to receive a new electric vehicle as relationship with Stellantis UK continues to strengthen.
Students at The Manchester College will benefit from access to a new electric vehicle thanks to the continuation of its long term partnership with Stellantis UK.
The leading global automaker and provider of innovative mobility solutions has generously donated a Peugeot 3008 - Hybrid 4 which will be used as a teaching and training resource for students studying on the College’s Automotive courses.
Access to this equipment will enable students to work with the latest technology being used in the sector as the automotive industry continues its transition towards electrification.
Principal of The Manchester College Rachel Curry commented: “We’re incredibly grateful to Stellantis for this generous donation and for their continued commitment to ensuring that our students gain the technical, industry-relevant skills that will prepare them for future employment.
This ensures our students gain exceptional training opportunities that mirror real-world industry environments — helping them build the skills, confidence and experience needed to succeed in the automotive industry.
The donation marks the latest milestone in the collaboration between the College and Stellantis UK, which has already supported students through the Rising Stars Programme, powered by the Stellantis Performance Academy.
The programme, designed specifically for Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair students, combines three days a week at College with two days a week working in a Stellantis retailer.
This blend of education and professional experience gives students the opportunity to apply their skills in real-world settings, gain recognised Stellantis training credentials, and build the confidence to progress into full-time roles or apprenticeships within the Stellantis network.
The Stellantis Performance Academy is the only training provider in the UK where technicians can gain hands-on experience across all Stellantis brands, including Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Peugeot, Vauxhall, and Leapmotor. Training is delivered in state-of-the-art facilities using the latest tools, technology, and vehicles, and is guided by expert Stellantis instructors.
Rebecca Thorn, Transition and Employment Manager at Stellantis commented: “We’re proud to continue our collaboration with The Manchester College by donating this electric vehicle that will ensure that students are learning with the same technology found in our retailers — helping to prepare the next generation of skilled technicians so that they are ready to support the UK’s electric vehicle future.
Through initiatives like Rising Stars, Stellantis and The Manchester College are helping shape the next generation of automotive talent — fostering innovation, sustainability, and employability across Greater Manchester and beyond.
