Emotional Health and Wellbeing

The Manchester College takes a whole college approach to emotional health and wellbeing. 

We believe having the right access to support at the right time can positively impact your overall college experience. If you need any support around your emotional health and wellbeing, please speak to a member of staff or visit the Pastoral Hub on your campus.

Support available in college

Our emotional health and wellbeing service is open to all students aged 16-19. This service will actively support the emotional health and wellbeing of students by offering students 1:1 intervention tailored to their specific need using solution focused strategies. 

PAM Assist (19+)

PAM assist is a free service available 24/7 365 days per year. This service is completely confidential and can support with exam related stress and anxiety, counselling, drug and alcohol misuse, relationships, money matters and more.  

PAM Support Guide

Key External Support:

Provides support for young people aged 11-25 with their emotional well-being and mental health through one-to-one support, group sessions, and creative projects.

They also offer specific resources for LGBTQ+ youth, young people in further education, and those experiencing oppression or economic inequalities.

It offers free, anonymous access to professional counsellors, moderated forums, and self-help tools.

They offer advice on various issues including anxiety, depression, and coping with life changes, as well as a parent helpline for those supporting young people.

Provides free, confidential support and counselling for children and young people up to the age of 19.

They offer a helpline, online chat, and message boards where young people can seek help and advice.

They provide a free helpline, web chat, and articles on a wide range of topics.

Provides resources and support for children, young people, and their families on various mental health issues.

They offer self-care resources, advice, and access to professional help.

Manchester Mind provides a variety of mental health services including advice, peer support, and specific programs for young people and new mothers.

They also offer mindfulness courses and support for those with long-term conditions. For urgent help, Manchester Mind suggests contacting your GP, local NHS Walk-In Centre, or A&E, and they list several emergency helplines and support services like the Samaritans and Shout

Qwell is a digital mental health service designed to provide free, safe, and anonymous support for adults aged 26 and over.

It is accessible to residents of Greater Manchester and can offer immediate access to mental health support.
