This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a hairdresser/stylist including the mandatory units which include, working in the hair industry, health and safety, client consultation, shampoo and conditioning hair, cutting women's hair and the art of dressing hair.
You will also have the opportunity to further develop your understanding and skills by specialist units which include the art of colouring hair.
Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and
safety whilst working in the hair industry. You will also develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of each unit and develop your practical skills.
4 GCSE's of grade 3 or higher including English or Math's and/or prior achievement of a Level 1 Hairdressing qualification along with a subject specific interview. The study programme provides an opportunity for you to develop a variety of practical, theoretical and employability skills. Within this qualification you will have the opportunity to complete work experience
You will be on a course where assessment of practical observations supports your programme of learning.
You will build a portfolio of evidence and be assessed continually through practical assessment, exams and assignments.

• Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering African Type Hair
• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing

All learners are required to wear a uniform costing approximately £42 and enclosed toe black shoes, with no heel.
