Hair and Beauty Skills

This qualification allows you to choose on interview between the Level 2 Hairdressing route or Level 2 Beauty therapy route. This is not a combined Hair and Beauty qualification and on interview you will decide which route you wish to study. Depending on which route you choose you will either complete: -
Hairdressing Route
• Introduction to Health and Safety
• Client Care/ Customer Service
• Shampooing and conditioning hair
• Styling and dressing hair
• Introduction to cutting hair
• Introduction to colouring hair
• Promoting and selling products and services

Beauty Therapy Route
• Introduction to Health and Safety
• Client Care/ Customer Service
• Introduction to manicure and pedicure
• Introduction to facial
• Introduction to eye treatments
• Introduction to waxing
• Introduction to make up
• Promoting and selling products and services

You will be expected to gather evidence of both
the practical skills and underpinning knowledge for each unit you
study and create a ‘portfolio of evidence' for the qualification. You
will be assessed continually through practical assessment, exams
and assignments.

- This qualification provides progression opportunities to the following qualifications:

Level 2 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing
Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy
Level 2 Diploma in Media Hair and Makeup
Level 3 Diploma in Fashion, Theatre, Special effects makeup.
Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing
Level 3 Diploma in Barbering

Learners are required to purchase a kit (Learners will be given approximate costs at interview) and enclosed toe black shoes, with no heel.
