Have you ever thought about what it might be like to be a physiotherapist? Would you like to aid someone's recovery and perhaps even help them to walk again? If this is something you're passionate about, but you don't currently have the qualifications necessary, then our Access to Higher Education Diploma Health and Physiotherapy is the perfect place to begin.

You'll develop an excellent understanding of the medical and health care industries, with a focus on physiotherapy and its associated roles. Throughout the year, you'll study three core modules: Human Biology, Psychology and Maths and Physics. This will give you the foundations you need to study a physiotherapy-related degree.

“To be accepted onto the course, you will need either GCSEs in both Maths, and English at grade C/4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 or above in both Maths and English. Most Physiotherapy and Sports Rehabilitation courses will require GCSEs rather than Functional Skills. You will need to check the university entry requirements for the course to which you wish to progress. There is an opportunity to study one GCSE alongside this diploma, providing that you have a D/3 at GCSE, or Functional Skills L2 in that subject already. Some universities may require Science at Grade C/4 or above. As with most medical-based university courses, work experience is always desirable in order to increase your progression options.”

During this Health and Physiotherapy Diploma, you'll be assessed through a variety of methods to help develop your knowledge and skills and to prepare you for university. This will include tutorials, practical laboratory sessions, presentations, assignments, discussion forums and some exams.

After you have completed this Access to HE Diploma in Health and Physiotherapy, you'll have all the skills and qualifications you need to apply to university and advance onto a degree-level course in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Sports Science, Podiatry, Nursing, or other health-related courses.
