Level 1 BTEC Applied Science can help you take your first steps towards a career in a wide range of science-related industries, such as medical, pharmaceutical or forensic science.
On this course you will develop a range of transferrable skills including communication, problem solving, managing information and working with others. You will learn about scientific principles and how to put them into practice in the workplace. You will cover science topics such as investigating crime scene evidence, measuring waves used in technology and investigating variations in plants and animals.
The Introductory Diploma is designed around practical skills and tasks that place an emphasis on learners demonstrating what they can do rather than what they know in theory.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

Assessment for this course will take place through the completion of coursework and practical activities.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners will have the opportunity to progress onto the Level 2 Extended Certificate in Applied Science to further their knowledge of the sector.
