The course has been designed for URTU shop stewards who have previously attended the Basic Shop Steward course.
Course aims:
• Develop your knowledge of disciplinary and grievance procedures
• Develop your knowledge of collective consultation and TUPE
• Improve your negotiating skills
• Develop your understanding of the UK legal system
• Gain an understanding of current employment law
• Develop your understanding of the Working Time Regulations.
You are required to be a representative of United Road Transport Union (URTU).
You also need to ensure that you have time off to attend this course and that you have informed the appropriate union branch official or officer of your intention to take the course.
Throughout the course you will be continuously assessed by the course tutor through classroom and workplace-based activities.
Completing this course enables you to progress to further courses with URTU and TUC.
