TMC Sport and FC United - Open Day

FC United of Manchester and The Manchester College are delighted to announce the relaunch of the FC United Academy, with applications now open for students starting in September 2026.

The Academy will offer the Level 3 Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity, delivered over two academic years. The qualification is designed for young people aged 16–18 who want to build a future in football - whether as players, coaches, analysts or within the wider sports and health industries.

Details about the course

Students will study and train at Broadhurst Park Stadium, gaining access to high‑quality facilities, expert coaching and a performance environment shaped by the values of both organisations: opportunity, inclusion, ambition and community.

Delivered by The Manchester College, the programme includes:

• Sports coaching and athlete development
• Exercise, health and lifestyle modules
• Fitness testing and training programme design
• Coaching special populations
• Career preparation in the sports industry
• Trips, visits and guest speakers from professional sport
• The opportunity to train with and analyse the FC United First Team
• Specialist football training led by Adam Le Fondre.

Students will achieve a qualification fully recognised within the UCAS points structure, enabling progression to university or entry into the growing sport, health and football sectors. The Academy also provides a clear pathway into FC United’s senior football environment.
