Northenden Campus will close during the summer of 2022.
Why is Northenden Campus closing?
We are currently investing £140m to upgrade our facilities and to build our brand new City Campus Manchester, just across the road from the Manchester Arena which will open in September 2022.
This investment will provide generations of students with access to state-of-the-art, industry-standard facilities that will mirror the world of work, providing the perfect setting to help prepare them for a future career and in locations that are easy to get to by public transport.
To deliver these new purpose-built facilities, we are rationalising our campus estate and releasing some of our old sites.
What does this mean for my studies?
Courses will be based at one of our six campuses across the city, with the location depending on the subject you will study. These changes give you the best opportunity to make the most of our new facilities and group all our specialist technical courses together in brand new facilities.
Information on where every course will be delivered can be found on the relevant course page when you apply.
Please note that we have written to all existing students and new applicants to inform them of where their courses will be relocated to and to outline the support we will be providing to them as they make the transition.
If you have any questions about the location of your course or want advice on what this means for you, please contact 03333 222 444.
Northenden Campus is a large, welcoming campus, offering a wide range of courses for school leavers, apprentices, adults and university-level students. The subjects on offer to study at this campus are animal care, business, computing, creative & digital media, design & visual arts, hair & beauty, childcare studies, health care & well being, public services and theatrical & media make-up.
We’ve created a wildlife haven within the grounds and wildlife corridors connecting the site to the beautiful Wythenshawe Park nearby. Some of the facilities at Northenden are open to the public, including beauty salons.
Reception Opening Times
Northenden is an up-and-coming suburb in the South of Manchester, sitting on the South side of the River Mersey and M60 motorway, making it easy to reach by car from any direction.
A bustling farmers market takes place on the first Saturday of every month, where you can buy local produce and artisan groceries. A section of the River Mersey runs through Northenden and one of its most popular parts is the weir, which now has a fish ladder, so migrating salmon and sea trout can get upstream, making it ideal for a spot of fishing!
Did you know?
One of the ash trees in Wythenshawe Park is over six metres around the trunk. This means it is probably more than 150 years old.
