Anujin's Work at Awarding Body’s Exhibition in London
One of The Manchester College’s talented Motion Design and Animation students has been selected to exhibit their work at Origins Creatives 2024, which takes place at the Mall Galleries, London this July.
Anujin, who has just completed the first year of the Motion Design and Animation in partnership with Flow Creative course at the College, titled her submission Surprise and utilised digital animation art and storytelling to meet the project brief and impress University of the Arts London (UAL) Awarding Body’s curator, Charlie Levine.
All of Anujin’s ideas and hard work culminated in a five second animated scene, which incorporates the 12 principles of animation and was chosen from over 500 entries from colleges nationwide.
Origins Creatives is organised by UAL Awarding Body and this year’s event offers a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts, critics, and industry professionals to discover original talent and to celebrate the dedication and hard work of young creatives. The initiative also provides a platform for emerging talent to be seen and celebrated, connecting them with potential collaborators, industry leaders, and a wider audience.
Shortly after finding out her work had been chosen to feature in the exhibition, Anujin said:
I am very thrilled to have my work be a part of this occasion. I was very happy that my animation actually got selected - I still can’t believe it!
Motion Design & Animation Lead Tutor, Katy Rushton, who teaches Anujin and helped her with the submission, added: “Anujin has worked so hard this year and it's wonderful to see her work selected for such a prestigious event. She is already a very talented artist and animator and her final piece of the 2023/24 academic year is a testament to her skill and creativity. Honestly, I couldn’t be prouder of her."
Origins will be open to the public from 10am to 5pm between Wednesday 17 and Saturday 20 July 2024.
