Executive Head Chef gives our Professional Cookery students a taste of the culinary industry

Our students recently cooked up a night of unforgettable dining at our 1853 restaurant working with George Warwick Executive Head Chef at The Reach Piccadilly.

Our Level 2 Professional Cookery students recently supported Executive Head Chef George Warwick in cooking a three-course banquet-style menu at City Campus Manchester’s 1853 restaurant.

As a former student of The Manchester College, George was delighted to impart some industry wisdom from over a decade of culinary experience to our students.

Watch the video above to hear how George's visit gave our students invaluable industry experience and get a glimpse of some of the mouth-watering dishes that George and our students created!

George Warwick:
I'm George Warwick, I’m the Executive Chef of The Reach Piccadilly. I visited The Manchester College tonight to work with the students. We're doing a three-course banquet on a restaurant-style menu and a restaurant-style service.

Hamza:
My name’s Hamza. I do Level Two Professional Cookery. He's going to help us learn about the industry.

George Warwick:
The knowledge the next generation needs, I'm here to, like, try
and support as much as I can. The students worked really well. It's a pleasure to come in and work with them because they're always so respectful. They actually listen. They actually care about what they’re doing and they like to learn.

Hamza:
It's been really good working with one of his sous chefs called Callum. We’ve been doing some Manchester tarts.

George Warwick:
This has just been a really great night. All the students should be really proud of themselves. I actually studied at The Manchester College. It's great to be back and play a part in the next generation coming through.
