Exam

Class changes due to GCSE exams

Students should make a note of the dates when there will be no classes taking place at specific campuses at The Manchester College, due to this year’s English and maths GCSE exams.

Maths GCSE exams will be held on the following dates:

  • Maths Paper 1 – Tuesday 21 May
  • Maths Paper 2 – Thursday 6 June
  • Maths Paper 3 – Tuesday 11 June

English GCSE exams will be held on the following dates:

  • English Paper 1 – Tuesday 4 June
  • English Paper 2 – Friday 7 June

As a result, there will be no classes at six campuses - Harpurhey, Nicholls, Northenden, Openshaw, Shena Simon, or St John’s - on any of those dates, although the sites will remain open as usual.

Students should take note of the changes, and, if sitting a maths or English GCSE, ensure they arrive promptly. Failure to attend examinations may affect progression in further study or employment.

In addition, students can take advantage of planned GCSE revision sessions which will be held at each of those six campuses on Tuesday 21 May (Maths Paper 2), Thursday 6 June (Maths Paper 3), and Tuesday 4 June (English Paper 2). All revision sessions will take place in the afternoon after exams have taken place.
