College shortlisted for six Educate North Award categories

Latest nominations total 10 in just four months for College colleagues.

The Manchester College has been nominated for an amazing six awards at this year’s Educate North Awards, the third prestigious industry award nomination in a row.

The College, which is rated number 1 in GM for achievement and gained a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating across all departments, was nominated in five award categories:

  • FE College of the Year
  • UK Leadership Award for Principal Lisa O’Loughlin’s role as Greater Manchester Colleges Group (GMCG) Chair
  • Student Experience – for how ‘The Deal’ supports employability
  • Innovation Award - for a digital delivery project by Departmental Team Leader Stacey Foy
  • plus two nominations in the Employer Engagement Award – one for the college’s Employability & Partnerships Team and the other for the college’s Employer Sponsored Programmes.

This follows from a double award nomination in the Tes FE Awards in January 2020 and the college reaching the finals of the AoC Beacon Awards in November 2019, totalling 10 award nominations in just four months.

Receiving recognition for our truly amazing teams in so many categories is astounding and I am so proud of each and every colleague who helps to make The Manchester College a leader in the education sector.

In addition, the Marketing and External Relations team, which promotes the college and other businesses within LTE Group, have made the final five in the External Relations Team of the Year category. 

The Educate North Awards celebrate excellence, improvement and outstanding achievement as well as searching for the latest and best new business ideas across the North.

Representatives of leading University, Higher Education, FE and Sixth Form institutions will come together on Thursday 23 April at the Hilton Deansgate in Manchester to celebrate the winners of the awards, picked by a panel of academics, business people and experts from across the UK.
