Hair and Beauty students connect with professionals and employers during Industry Week
Students on Level 2 and Level 3 Hair, Barbering, Nail Technology. Beauty and Make-Up courses at The Manchester College recently got the chance to engage with industry leaders and participate in hands-on activities that enhanced their skills and knowledge.
The events, which took place as part of an Industry Week at both the College’s Harpurhey and Wythenshawe campuses, highlighted to students some industry trends, innovations, and best practices while helping them to start building a network of professional contacts.
As part of Industry Week, a range of employers visited the College, including ABLE’s Andrew Barton, who delivered a Masterclass on hairdressing to 60 students.
The business support for the event followed the announcement that the College had become an ABLE Centre of Excellence Speaking at the Masterclass, a delighted Andrew said: “What I enjoyed most about the session is the excitement and engagement from the students and helping them progress to the next level of their training.”
Alongside Andrew Barton, a range of sector-leading brand partners, which included the likes of Fenty Beauty, Stylebook Education, MINT Agency also provided sessions for students.

Millie Hilton, a Level 2 Media Make-up Diploma student studying at the College’s Harpurhey Campus, said: “Our Hair and Beauty Industry week was an incredible experience. I loved seeing so many brands and a former student who shared his journey since leaving the College.
“It was interesting to learn about the different career paths available in the Hair and Beauty industry. This has given me the inspiration to pursue my own goals with confidence and learn new skills for upcoming events.”
