Students and employers are mixing at a Construction Trade Fair event at The Manchester College's Openshaw campus.

The Manchester College hosts Construction Trade Fair

The Manchester College recently held a Construction Trade Fair at its Openshaw Campus, to give students the chance to network with a range of employers.

Construction and Engineering students met with 13 different organisations within the industry, including a host of large construction firms in the local area:

  • Morgan Sindall 
  • ISG
  • Lovell 
  • Imtech
  • Wirquin Group
  • Roxor Group
  • Graham Plumbing
  • Working Wear UK
  • Howdens
  • Flannery Plant Hire
  • Machine Mart
  • CT1.

Taking advantages of the industry-standard facilities at the College’s Industry Excellence Academy for Construction and Engineering, the students took part in live demonstrations and masterclasses, as well as a digital learning zone with a digger simulator. 

They also had the chance to receive trade discount cards and enter prize draws.

Ayub Moosa, The Manchester College’s Assistant Principal for Automotive, Construction, Engineering and Logistics, said: “I’d like to thank all the employers who attended for making this trade fair such a fantastic event.

Our students were able to explore different career opportunities and make invaluable contacts, which will help them on their journey into industry.
