Schools enjoy Digital T Level Taster Days with Lloyds Banking Group

Secondary school children across Greater Manchester were given an insight into the Digital T Level thanks to Lloyds Banking Group and The Manchester College.

The College partnered with Lloyds to offer three Digital Taster Days to Year 9 and 10 learners from five local schools.

The taster days provided the learners with an understanding of T Levels at The Manchester College by meeting T Level tutors and hearing from current first- and second-year T Level students, who spoke about their experience on the programmes.

The learners then took part in some hands-on group activities involving virtual reality and mobile app development.

Kinjal Brahmbhatt, Employability and Partnerships Coordinator for Computing and Digital Industries, said:

The sessions were a tremendous success, with students fully engaged in hands-on activities that sparked their interest in technology and app development.

“We offer these interactive sessions to inspire the next generation, providing them with practical experiences and a glimpse into the exciting educational opportunities within digital pathways available at our institution.”

Lloyds Banking Group and The Manchester College have a long-standing relationship, with Lloyds being one of the College’s biggest industry placement providers for Digital T Levels.

Tracy Rowlands, Emerging Talent Lead at Lloyds Banking Group, said: “By running these events with schools, we hope to attract more young people into careers at Lloyds Banking Group as we build our workforce of the future.

“It was great to hear from those who have previously joined us as part of their placement activity and who are coming back to do their data analyst apprenticeship with us.”
