Students rewarded with extended Bank Holiday weekend
Students to have Monday 11 May off as a thank you for their hard work in adapting to online learning
Students at The Manchester College are being given a day off on Monday 11 May as a thank you for all their hard work and flexibility in adapting to online learning.
Since College campuses were closed as part of the government’s response to Covid-19 students and colleagues have shown tremendous commitment and adaptability to ensure that learning has continued virtually and online. As a result the College has seen exceptionally high student engagement rates, leading to some fantastic learning outcomes in virtual environments.
As a thank you for these efforts the College is extending the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend for students and tutors to include Monday 11 May.
Announcing the extra day College Principal Lisa O’Loughlin said:
Over the past six weeks the leadership team has been exceptionally proud, and impressed, by the way in which everyone at the College has adapted to the challenges that we have collectively faced. As a result of the commitment shown by our students and tutors we have been able to continue delivering learning online and seen high student engagement rates. In recognition of this dedication, this extra day will enable everyone to spend a little bit more time focussing on themselves and to recharge their batteries.
The College will continue with online delivery as normal on Tuesday 12 May.
