Georgia’s time at College inspires teaching goals
A career in the classroom awaits after A* results.
Childhood Studies student Georgia Darbyshire says she’s been inspired to go to university by her tutors at The Manchester College.
After achieving an A* in her Level 3 Diploma in Childcare & Education, the ex-Reddish Vale High School student is set for a rewarding career in the classroom.
“When I arrived at The Manchester College, I didn’t have any plans to go to university,” Georgia said. “But once I started the course, my tutors inspired me by giving me the skills and confidence I needed. They explored all my career options and even gave me back up career prospects to pursue.”
Alongside her studies, Georgia worked in a day nursery, which she says increased her confidence of working with young people, enhanced her learning experience and helped her with assessments and coursework.
Georgia is now set to study for a degree in Primary Education.
She added: “My time at the College has definitely inspired me to apply for university. My aim is to study for my degree and start my career as a teacher.
“I would recommend The Manchester College because there are so many options available here. The number of courses and campuses ensures there is something for everyone.”
