Our T Level Foundation Year - C&G L2 Technical Certificate in Animal Care offers an engaging programme to support you into a career in an animal-related industry.
If you're looking for a full-time course specialising in the animal management sector and wish to move onto a Technical Level 3 course and Higher Education, and then want to work in the animal industry or in animal occupation then this is the qualification for you.
You'll study a range of mandatory units including how to maintain animal health and welfare, animal behaviour and handling, working in the animal care industry and health and safety for the land-based industries.
You'll also have the opportunity to study units around animal breeds and grooming, he principles of animal biology and care of exotic animals.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

You'll be assessed through a range of methods including a synoptic practical assessment (externally set by C&G, but marked internally), an End Knowledge assessment (set and marked by C&G) as well as work experience and internal assessments which are set and marked by teachers, and are taken during a defined window allowing you to demonstrate understanding through completion of a vocational task.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, you'll be able to progress onto our Level 3 Animal Care qualification and then progress into direct employment in the animal care section including roles in an animal welfare centre, pet shop, kennel or cattery, rescue centre or in a zoo.
