(Full Time - 34 weeks)
This hybrid media and computing qualification is ideal for learners who want to develop digital skills beyond the basics of using devices.
You'll explore a mix of creative and technical areas, including:
Website design
Cyber security awareness
Presentation skills for different audiences
Project management
Digital career research
As part of the course, you'll work in small teams to develop a learning platform project, designed to meet the needs of different users.
For 2025/26, students are working with a live project brief from the BBC, with input and feedback throughout the year. You'll present your ideas and outcomes at the end of the project, building both confidence and real‑world experience.
Level 1 English and maths are desirable however learners will be assessed on a one to one basis taking into account work experience and assessment of English and maths skills at enrolment.
All of your evidence will be submitted through portfolios which can include text, screenshots, annotation, recordings, and observation of activities conducted.
Upon completion of this qualification, learners will be able to progress to our next level Computing course or branch off into another relevant subject area.
Learners must have achieved a Level 2 English and maths qualification alongside their current study to be able to progress to this Level 3 course.
Alternatively, you may wish to study to develop your technical IT skills in preparation for a career in this field rather than progress to the next level.
Most learners will be funded for this course but this does depend on personal circumstances. You will be fee assessed at enrolment.
If you need help with affording college, there are a number of different finance and funding options available to you. You might be eligible for special bursary support or extra help from the government. Have a look at our fees, finance & funding page to find out all the information you need.
