This qualification will help students develop their skills and knowledge of the sport and physical activity sector. Areas covered by the course include principles of anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, fitness testing for sport and exercise, psychology for sports performance, and preparing for a career in the sport industry.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.
Assessments for this qualification are made up of a variety of supervised assessments, coursework and presentations.
Upon successful completion of this qualification students will be able to progress onto a Bachelor's Degree in Sport and Exercise Science or Sports Coaching. Learners can also progress on to degree-level study with our higher education partner, UCEN Manchester. Students progressing from The Manchester College will receive a cash award through the Achievers Scholarship.
