Course Details

  • Designed to give you a comprehensive introduction to the hair and beauty industry by teaching you the skills and techniques to look after yourself, this Entry Level Diploma is an ideal place to begin for anyone who wants to find out what the industry is all about.

    While the award and certificate qualifications in this subject let you choose from a variety of topics, to complete the diploma you’ll need to take every unit on the course. You’ll learn how to care for your own skin, your hands and your feet, as well as develop the necessary skills to apply your own make-up and paint your own nails. Practicing on yourself, you’ll focus on hair care (including shampooing, conditioning and blow-drying) and personal hygiene.

    You’ll be learning the techniques and knowledge that are commonplace in the industry, developing an understanding of the tools, equipment and products used. With a good introduction to what it’s like working in this industry, you’ll be laying the groundwork for a future successful career in hair and beauty.

    Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

  • Throughout this whole diploma, you’ll be assessed at regular intervals in a variety of different ways, to check your skills and techniques are all developing correctly. This will include a combination of practical assignments, observations, written tests and course work.

  • After you’ve completed this Entry Level Diploma, you’ll have the skills and knowledge needed to continue onto a Level 1 course in Hair and Beauty Skills and develop your techniques even further.

    You’ll be learning everything you need for a successful career, on the path to a number of different roles in the hair and beauty sector.

  • If you’re between the ages of 16 and 18 and enrolling on this course for the first time, you won’t need to pay any tuition fees.
