(Full Time - 22 weeks)
Focusing upon building a sound skills and knowledge base across the land-based subjects, these qualifications provide a good foundation to allow the successful student to progress to further learning and begin to specialise in areas such as Animal Care. A City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Land-based Studies is for anyone who is thinking about or interested in a career working with wild or domestic animals and/or managing our natural environment. After gaining a sound basis in Health & Safety in the Land Based industries, students will go on to study animals in the wild, handling and restraint and many other aspects the industry.

Assessments take place throughout the course in both assignment form and in one externally set, externally assessed exam.
Upon successful completion of this qualification, students will be able to seek employment in the Land Based industries at an entry level, or progress onto the City and Guilds Level 2 course if they meet the requirements set.

The course will require learners to have a uniform for practical work: Steel Toe Capped Boots, Boiler Suit in Green.
They will also be required to wear uniform in other lessons: Green Polo Necked T-Shirt, Black Walking trousers, Green Hoody or Fleece
