On our three week Light Goods Vehicle (LGV) course we'll help you to develop the skills you'll need to start your journey to a career as a professional light goods vehicle driver.

On the course you'll study for a Level 1 Diploma in Logistics as well as an Entry Level 3 Certificate in Professional Development.

You'll learn how to conduct a daily walkaround check on an LGV vehicle, understand European driver hours and find out how to use a digital tachograph.

You'll develop an understanding of new technologies in the automotive industry, learn about the legal requirements of ensuring an LGV is compliant in current legislation and find out how to use various types of securing devices such as ratchet and strap, chain and tensioner, and load bars.

The course will prepare you for your future career with a range of transferable skills, helping you to understand the careers available in the logistics industry, explore your current skill set and construct your CV ahead of a role in the industry. Plus, we'll provide you with training and support for a 4 LGV licence test.

Applicants require a full UK or European car licence held for a minimum of twelve months.

You'll be assessed through a variety of methods including written, verbal and peer assessments as well as online self-marking tests and DVSA industry tests.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, you'll have the opportunity to progress onto driver training qualifications and go on to become an LGV or HGV driver or Traffic Officer.
