Openshaw Campus
(Full Time - 1 year)
Our Level 2 Maintenance Operations programme provides learners with the practical skills, technical understanding, and professional behaviours required to work confidently in a wide range of building maintenance roles. Designed for those looking to enter the construction and facilities sector, the course blends hands‑on training with essential theory to prepare learners for real‑world working environments. Demand for multi‑skilled maintenance operatives continues to grow across the UK.
Employers in housing associations, schools, healthcare settings, commercial buildings, and facilities management consistently report shortages of workers who can carry out a variety of routine repairs and planned maintenance tasks. The need for adaptable, practically skilled operatives has never been higher.
Applicants must have a grade 3 in English and maths GCSE as a minimum, or Level 2 Functional Skills, or the equivalent of these. If you do not have these qualifications, we will carry out an assessment of your level in English and maths to verify you are capable of Level 2 work.
Training is delivered through a mix of workshop‑based practical sessions, classroom learning, and real‑world maintenance scenarios. You will build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating competence across a range of tasks, supported by ongoing assessment and tutor feedback.
After successful completion of this course, you would then be able to apply for apprenticeships or specialise in a specific trade.
