Train in a vibrant, artistic city - home to some of the UKs leading Musical Theatre talent - where you'll learn from industry professionals and perform in top-tier venues designed for musical theatre stars in the making.
This course is all about building your skills, confidence and versatility as a performer. You'll refine your acting, singing and dance technique, develop a standout repertoire and gain insight into what it takes to thrive in the musical theatre industry. From audition techniques to networking and freelancing, we'll help you get ready for your future career. You'll also have access to real industry work experience to give you a head start.
Your training will include:

• Song and dance to master storytelling through movement
• Audition skills to help you land roles with confidence
• Jazz, ballet, tap, and contemporary dance to enhance your versatility.
You won't just train - you'll perform. With multiple live performance opportunities for all students, and the chance to showcase your talent, you'll gain real-world experience in front of an audience.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.
The course uses a mixture of practical performances, skills demonstrations and written coursework to assess how you're progressing. All written work will form a part of a larger practical piece, and could include research on directors, playwrights, choreographers or anything that underpins your performance!
Our students have gone on to study at some of the top drama schools in the country, such as MADD, Italia Conte, Laine and Mountview to name but a few.
There are number of next steps you can take to continue your journey with The Manchester College and further develop your musical theatre skills. You could move onto an HNC course in the discipline, or enrol directly onto a BA (Hons) degree in Musical Theatre at The Arden School of Theatre. You can also choose to Progress on to degree-level study with our higher education partner, UCEN Manchester. Students progressing from The Manchester College will receive a cash award through the Achievers Scholarship.

Alternatively, you could explore a whole range of careers related to musical theatre and performing arts, and like many of our past students could soon find yourself working on the West End, on cruise ships, in TV or film, theatre or teaching.
Depending on your current age, position and circumstances, there may be a fee for this course.
