If you are wanting to gain an in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school and college environments, then this course is for you; it provides learners with additional and in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when furthering their support skills in an educational environment.
The qualification covers all aspects of specialist support including planning, delivering and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher, bilingual support, special needs support, personal development and reflective practice.

This course requires a minimum of a Level 2 Literacy, which can be assess at interview, or have a Level 2 English qualification.

This course will be assessed through assignments and observations of workplace practice.

Successful completion of this qualification allows progression onto a level 4 Foundation Degree in childhood and youth studies. Choose to progress on to degree-level study with our higher education partner, UCEN Manchester. Students progressing from The Manchester College will receive a cash award through the Achievers Scholarship.
