(Full Time - 2 years)
During your studies you will gain all the skills and core knowledge to be able to enter into a range of animal care and management occupations. You'll develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector including sustainability, environmental legislation, climate change and waste management, principles of biosecurity, ethical principles, principles of customer care, finance and principles of stock management. Alongside your study you will undertake an industry placement within your chosen area to gain on the job experience.
By specialising in Animal Care and Management, you will study and work with a range of animals, gaining underpinning knowledge in the following:
• Health & Safety
• Working within the sector
• Business and Project Management
• Biosecurity
• Sustainability
• Animal Biology
• Anatomy and Physiology
• Classification
• Health and Diseases
• Nutrition and Feeding
• Animal Behaviour and Communication
• Animal Welfare
• Conservation
Minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English, maths and science.

You will be assessed through external exams, assignments and practical assessments.
Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners will seek employment within the Animal Management Industry including:

- Animal Behaviourist
