The Manchester College partners with celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton to provide cutting-edge training

Andrew Barton joins forces with The Manchester College to inspire the next generation of hairdressers.

The Manchester College has partnered with renowned celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton to become an ABLE Centre of Excellence. This makes us the only education provider within a 20-mile radius to receive exclusive resources, masterclasses, and in-person training from Andrew himself.

Andrew recently visited City Campus Manchester to officially launch the partnership.

With over three decades of experience, Andrew Barton is a renowned figure in the hairdressing industry. During his career, he has styled celebrities such as Eva Longoria, Jerry Hall, and Robbie Williams, and is perhaps best known for his eight-year stint as the resident hairdresser on the hit TV makeover show 10 Years Younger.

Andrew created ABLE to enrich the learning journey for hairdressing students and apprentices, preparing students with industry know-how and experience for a rewarding aspirational career in hairdressing and barbering.

Commenting on the new partnership, Hannah Feely, Curriculum Lead and Employability, Technical Programmes and Media Make up, said: “It's really important for us to partner with industry-leaders like Andrew. His story resonates with our learners, as he started at a very similar point.

We’re excited to see Andrew inspire our students and show them that they are capable of reaching similar heights.

Speaking at the launch event, Andrew expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, saying: "We’re delighted to partner with The Manchester College as their goals align perfectly with ours at ABLE, and they have a strong reputation for excellence in further education."

Explaining his motivation for sharing his skills and industry knowledge, Andrew added: "It's important for me to contribute to the future of British hairdressing by working with further education colleges, supporting lecturers, and nurturing students for a successful and aspirational career in hairdressing."

There are endless opportunities in the hairdressing industry, and it all starts with a base of fantastic training.
