Employment initiatives

The Manchester College pre-employment team run short 45–75 hour programmes for unemployed people.

The programme enables the College to work with employers across the North West to prepare potential employees for work with their organisations.

The Manchester College works with The Prince's Trust and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service to deliver ‘The Princes Trust Team Programme’ in eleven locations across Greater Manchester.

The programme is a full time, 12 week course and aims to engage 16-25 year olds as a stepping stone back into employment, education or training. It is delivered by specialist Youth Support Workers and includes communication, team working and employability skills, equipping the learners with tools to progress with their lives and to overcome barriers to engagement.

The programme includes a one week residential, a team challenge, a community project, work experience and progression planning alongside formalised sessions on communication and employability skills.
