Course Details

  • This qualification will provide students with an understanding of the principles of organising, planning and pricing construction work. This includes how to repair and maintain masonry structures, constructing radial and battered brickwork, constructing fireplaces and chimneys, and carrying out decorative and reinforced brickwork. Students will learn how to work in a safe, professional manner to an accepted code of practice, and how to follow the relevant health and safety regulations.

    Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

  • Assessments for this qualification are made up of a variety of exams and practical tests.

  • Upon successful completion of this qualification students will possess a variety of skills to enable them to build, repair and maintain the country’s housing stock. Students can use this qualification to progress on to becoming skilled in their chosen trade, or to progress through an apprenticeship, and work towards becoming a master craftsman.
