CIMA (Chartered Instutite of Management Accounts)

CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) is the awarding body who offer this prestigious professional qualification.

It is aimed at professionals who possess L4 AAT or CIMA Certificate Foundation qualifications, looking to attain a level 5 and above, industry recognised, and respected, achievement within the finance and accounting employment sector.

The qualification consists of the following modules, each delivered over an 8-week period, two evenings a week:

Operational Financial Reporting – further study for the preparation for financial statements. This will be assessed via an online exam.

Operational Management Accounting – financial performance-related module, looking at risk assessment and evaluation from a fiscal point of view. This will be assessed via an online exam.

Managing Finance in the Digital World – investigating risk exposure to the business, learning about the financial implications of cyber security risks to a business. This will be assessed via an online exam.

Operational Integrated Case Study – synoptic case study issued by CIMA as a written exam.

The qualification will begin in January 2026, ending in December 2027. Learners can opt to join the start of modules F1, P1 and/or E1 in any order before taking the synoptic case study exam.

You will have achieved your AAT L4 at pass, merit or distinction, hold an accountancy related degree, or CIMA Certificate Foundation qualification.

There is an exam per module, and you must pass 4 exams to achieve the full Operational Level CIMA qualification

CIMA Professional Management Level 6 followed by the Strategic Level 7 option.
