(Short Course - 12 weeks)
If you're aged between 16-25, and you're currently unemployed, join us at The Manchester College for this 12-week King's Trust Team Programme. You'll meet new friends, boost your confidence, and develop a host of essential skills that can help you get back into education or take the first step towards a rewarding career.
The King's Trust Team Programme is specifically designed to give you a helping hand and improve your prospects for the future. You'll meet your class-mates and tutors during week one as you plan your goals and set targets for yourself, before preparing for a team-building residential during week two. On this week away from college, you'll complete a number of outdoor activities including rock climbing, caving, raft building, problem solving, a camping expedition, canoeing and high ropes.
This residential will help you build the teamwork skills you'll need to complete your own group project for your local community later on during the course, along with a final team challenge. The course is completely free and won't impact on your benefits, and you'll also enjoy an individual work placement to help you start your journey to a successful career.
You'll need to be aged between 16-25 and unemployed. You don't need to have any formal qualifications for the King's Trust Team Programme, but you should be committed to attending each week. There is no formal assessment for this course, but you will build up a portfolio of your skills during the 12 weeks and complete a final team challenge.
After completing this King's Trust Team Programme, you'll have a Level 1 Certificate in Employment Teamwork Community Skills. You'll have the confidence and knowledge to start a number of different courses with us here at The Manchester College – depending on your passions and interests. You'll also be able to apply for Apprenticeships and work placement opportunities to continue on a successful career path.
