This qualification is designed to develop your professional and digital skills to prepare you fully for employment. Employers expect applicants to possess the necessary digital and workplace professional skills to function at an acceptable standard with minimal training.

It is ideal for those with little experience in computing and can support progression into further education, employment, or a Level 2 course.

During this course, you will not only develop the technical skills required, but also enhance your organisational and interpersonal skills.

There are five key outcomes for this qualification:

Using devices and handling information
Creating and editing documents
Communicating professionally using digital skills
Understanding how to process online transactions effectively
Interacting safely and responsibly online

You will be required to have achieved Entry 3 and/or be working towards Level 1 in English. There is no entry requirement for maths.

All learners will initially be assessed/interviewed to determine their English skills and past achievements/experiences.

You will need to sit and pass an exam to achieve this qualification.

This course will develop your software processing skills, which are essential for any office-based job.

Once you have completed this qualification, we offer a range of additional short courses designed to help you upskill for future career prospects.

Should you wish to continue with an IT-based course, we offer Level 2 IT courses the following year. These are ideal for learners who want to explore how devices function and communicate through networks, understand new and emerging technologies, and learn about the importance of updating and improving security software.

There will also be opportunities to develop your English and maths skills while studying this digital skills course, to help prepare you for progression.
