This qualification is designed to develop your professional and digital skills in order to prepare you fully for employment. Employers expect applicants to have the necessary digital and workplace professional skills to be able to function at an acceptable standard with minimum training.

It is ideal for those with little experience in computing and can aid progress to further education, employment or a level two course. During this course, you will not only develop the technical skills required, but also your organisational and interpersonal skills.

There are five outcomes for this qualification;
• Using devices and handling information
• Creating and editing documents
• Communicating professionally using digital skills
• Knowing how to process online transactions effectively
• Being able to interact safely and responsibly when online.

You will be required to have achieved Entry 3 in English. There is no entry requirement for maths.

All learner's will initially be assessed/interviewed to determine their English skills and past achievements/experiences.

This course has been designed to develop your digital skills and prepare you for the working environment. You will conduct exercises to help you practice new skills.

You will need to sit and pass an exam to achieve this qualification.

This course will develop your software processing skills essential for any office based job.

Once you have completed this qualification, we offer many additional short courses that specialise in upskilling for future career prospects.

Should you wish to continue with an IT based course, we offer Level 2 IT courses the following year for those learners wanting to learn more about how devices function and communicate through networks, new and emerging technologies, and the need to improve and update security software.

There will be opportunities to develop your English and maths skills whilst you study this digital skills course to prepare you for this progression.
