This qualification has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills by introducing you to the hair and beauty sector and how to present a professional image in a salon environment.

To further enhance your practical skills, you will have the opportunity to complete the following units:
- Plaiting and twisting hair
- Shampooing and conditioning hair
- Skin care
- Themed face painting
- Hair styling
- Basic make-up application
- Creating an image using colour or hair and beauty techniques
- Dressing hair
- Photographic make-up
- Basic manicure or pedicure treatments
- Colour hair using temporary colour
- Salon reception duties
- Health and safety
- Creating and maintaining retail displays
- Head massage service.

This qualification will provide you with the foundation for further learning. It will also enable you to perform your own services and to assist others in a salon environment.

You will be assessed through practical observations and project work.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, you can progress onto a Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy Skills.
