Our Level 1 Introductory Award in Business qualification is designed for anyone over the age of 19 that wishes to develop their business skills and progress onto further study.

The course will help you to develop your knowledge of key business functions and gain a good understanding of what it takes to be successful in the industry.

If you start this course in September, you will study for one and a half days a week and complete the award in January before then having the opportunity to top this up to the certificate by continuing your studies until June. If you begin the course in January then you will complete the award in June, also studying for one and a half days a week.

There are no formal requirements for this qualification and you need no prior knowledge, understanding or skills, however, you will require a suitable level of English and maths.

You'll be assessed using a variety of methods including assignment work, annotation of practical activities, question and answering, witness statements and recordings, where necessary.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, you'll have the opportunity to take your skills to the next level and progress to study our Level 2 Business Administration course or you may wish to progress on to study a number of other areas including Legal Studies, Accountancy or IT Support.
If you wanted to go straight into a job then this qualification will give you an advantage when applying for entry level roles in business including roles such as administrative assistant or office assistant.
