5 GCSES including Maths, English and Science

You'll be assessed in two parts. The core component includes two written exams (Paper A and Paper B) and an employer set project. To get a grade, you must complete both the written exams and the project. Your results will be combined to give you an overall grade from A* to E, or a U if you don't meet the minimum standard. You won't receive an overall grade until both parts have been attempted.

The occupational specialism is assessed through synoptic assignments, which test a wide range of skills. You'll need to achieve at least a Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Upon successful completion of your course, you'll be equipped to:
Progress into employment as a maternity support worker or healthcare assistant
Advance to higher education, studying subjects such as Midwifery, Adult Nursing, or Children's Nursing
Take the next step towards becoming a registered midwife.
