This qualification is designed to give you a strong understanding of babies and young children from birth to seven years, with a focus on the crucial early years (birth to five).
You'll gain the knowledge and practical skills needed to meet the Department for Education's Early Years Practitioner (EYP) criteria in full, as well as the key knowledge, skills and behaviours expected in the Early Years Practitioner occupational standard.
As part of your course, you'll complete 250 hours of work placement alongside your college studies, giving you valuable real-world experience in early years settings.
You will be required to achieve a Level 1 Caring for Children and/or Level 1 English and maths.
This qualification is internally assessed and externally quality assured via a portfolio of evidence through assignments and tasks including assessments in the workplace
Upon successful completion of this qualification you can progress onto the Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning course or gain employment as an Early Years Practitioner.
