The Manchester College names Wythenshawe campus Howard House - The Manchester College and parent organisation LTE Group have named their Wythenshawe site Howard House in honour of former student and passionate fundraiser Kirsty Howard.  Kirsty’s family were VIP guests at the official naming ceremony on Friday 23 March and unveiled the plaque announcing the new name of the recently-refurbished site.

The Manchester College celebrates build progress at its Openshaw Campus

John Thornhill, Chief Executive of LTE Group added: “We are delighted that the construction is on schedule and are looking forward to welcoming our first students into these brand new facilities this September, to study on our sports, healthcare and construction courses. “Investing in our Openshaw Campus is just one element of a broader £140M investment into new facilities, which includes the brand new five storey city centre campus currently under construction next to the AO Arena in Manchester city centre which will open to students September 2022.”

Construction and Engineering In Summer 2021 we opened our brand new facilities at our Openshaw campus, located close to the Etihad stadium. Industry-standard facilities that have been developed specifically for your course, include: Purpose built practical areas for plumbing, electrical, carpentry, joinery, brickwork and plastering A multi-skills area for joint projects On the mezzanine level you will find an electrical testing area, work bays for electrical, carpentry and joinery and break out teaching areas.

Safely returning to campus - 16-19 students

The only exception to this is where individual students who would benefit from support have been invited to site at our Shena Simon and Openshaw sites. This invitation only support will continue until 8 March. From Monday 8 March we will then resume the blended learning model that was in place during the autumn term.
