Do you love being on stage? Want to develop your skills and dive deeper into the world of performing arts? Then this exciting, hands-on one-year course is for you!
You'll train in a variety of techniques and styles, choosing to specialise in Acting, Musical Theatre, or Dance. Whether you're performing choreographed material or creating original pieces you'll build confidence, creativity, and professional skills that will prepare you for the next step in your journey.
Beyond performing, you'll explore what it takes to work as a theatre company, gaining insight into both on-stage and behind-the-scenes roles. From learning about the industry to collaborating on exciting projects, you'll get a real taste of life in the performing arts.
Projects you'll take on include:
• Mastering technique and researching your craft
• Performing in a Pantomime or Variety Show
• Devising original work and choreographing performances

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.
Assessments for this qualification will be made up of both theoretical, written coursework tasks and also practical performances or demonstrations of your practical skills. Some units will be externally assessed.
Upon successful completion of this qualification students could progress on to Level 3 Performing Arts qualifications at The Manchester College.
Previous students have successfully gone on to professional work within the acting industry in television, theatre, theatre in education, physical theatre and comedy.
Other potential careers paths include directing (TV and theatre), scriptwriting, drama therapy, teaching, setting up and running your own theatre company, and events management.
