If you've always wanted to work as a plasterer, or you have an interest in learning more about the plastering trade and the skills it requires, this is a fantastic course to start with.

You'll learn the principles of construction and the importance of health, safety and welfare in the industry, as you begin to develop the skills needed in applying plastering materials to interiors and fixing dry linings and plasterboards.

Covering a wide range of areas and helping to expand your knowledge in a number of different areas, you'll have the opportunity to focus on either solid or fibrous plastering. This will help you to hone your abilities and lay the groundwork for a successful career.

Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.

Throughout this course you'll be building up an individual portfolio from a number of different practical assignments in the workshop that will demonstrate the skills you are learning.

You will also have to take some online tests relating to health and safety and the principles of building topics you will cover.

This qualification will help lay the foundations for a career as a plasterer and is widely recognised in the construction industry. It will also give you the skills to deepen your knowledge further by completing an NVQ Diploma in Plastering with us at The Manchester College.

From here, you could find yourself with a job as a solid or fibrous plasterer, working for a house building company, a property development company, or as part of a small business team repairing and refurbishing buildings.

You'll have the skills to succeed along a number of career paths in the construction industry.
