If you're interested in a career in accounting this course is for you. In your first year you will develop the skills needed for a wide number of accounting roles and there are a range of possible occupational specialisms.
The key areas of study will consist of the business environment, careers within accounting and job roles in the sector such as Assistant Accountant.
On this course, you will develop research skills, project management, professionalism, and ethics within accounting. Activities and topics of study include:

Careers within the finance and accounting professions
Regulation
Professionalism and ethics/equality, diversity, and inclusion
Security and risk
Professional services
Fundamentals of law
Fundamentals of financial accounting
Collaborative learning, based on real industry scenarios
You will be using dedicated T Level rooms, state-of -the-art facilities on campus and will have access to the latest financial software.

Minimum 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above including maths and English. Preferable grade 5 in maths and 5 English.
Work Experience is a vital part of the course and you will be supported in finding a work placement relevant to your study.
You will complete a set of written exams and an employer set project. You'll also have to complete an externally set assignment that covers the specialist area of Business Support. In addition, you will take part in live briefs set by a range of employers in Greater Manchester throughout your studies.
Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners will... progress onto a Foundation Degree in Business Management with our higher education partner UCEN Manchester and follow this up with an optional top-up year to earn a BA (Hons) degree.
You could also progress on to another degree level university course in Accounting, Business or Finance.
Alternatively you could begin your career with an entry level job in a finance company where you can work towards a professional qualification such as ACCA or Cilex.
